The prestigious Stetson F. Bennett Superior Court Clerk of the Year award was founded by the Bennett family
in 1985. The award is presented to honor and bring recognition to the most dedicated group of public servants
who have gone unrecognized for years, and to encourage excellence in all members of the Clerks’ Association.
The 2006 Stetson F. Bennett Superior Court Clerk of the Year is Linda T. Miller of Clayton County.
Linda was presented the prestigious Stetson F. Bennett Superior Court Clerk of the Year Award by her
peers at this year’s banquet. Linda began her employment in the office of the Clerk of Superior Court
in 1969 as a clerk typist. Through determination and hard work she later became Chief Deputy Clerk of
the State Court. Linda held that position until she won the election in 1992 as the first female Clerk
of Superior Court of Clayton County. In 1995 she was asked by the presiding judge of the Magistrate
Court and the County Commission Chairman to accept the appointment as Clerk of the Magistrate Court.
Linda has successfully run for re-election three times since her initial run. Linda is presently
serving as the president of the Constitutional Officers’ Association of Georgia, Inc.
